Check Out A Short Story By Me…
Title – Down The Memory Lane
Today was the last day of his college life, he was going to leave the college behind and chase the future. He looked back to the day when he stepped into that college for the first time. Perhaps it was written somewhere that he should come there only. If not, he who had planned to do B.Sc in Physics in a famous college in his hometown wouldn’t have come to this then alien place which was too far from his hometown.
Dreams were big for him then. Had thought to pursue space research and all… When he reached that college, things were just different. First year went as if it lasted just a few milliseconds. His mind was not at all ready for that pace. He had not much friends in there initially, felt some difficulties in mingling with the new people.
Long distance travel, need for depending on self, absence of anyone nearby to fulfill all our needs etc etc made him bold, self-reliant and stable.
Things were going on just fine after the initial hardships he finally had merged to the conditions there…
It was on his second year things started to sort out. He managed to get some really good friends who stood beside him as his family. But things were only to get tougher. Unexpected personal problems, relationship breakups etc etc shattered him to the core…
He was left suffering with a bleeding heart. But he was lucky that his friends never left him. Through them he regained his confidence and happiness, he started sorting out each and every thing which had gone wrong in his life.
His friends made him realize what he really was and what was his destiny. They made him realize the real gift he had in writing, he fell in love with that.
It was a rebirth of him. His life was filled with new energy, new hope and at that moment he started living. He had to give up the dreams he had initially but had found out his destiny. He thought, if he had stayed back in B.Sc itself what could’ve happened to him. What’d have been his destiny. He had no answer… Perhaps the gift he had might’ve continued its sleep forever and he could’ve become something else which he never was.
And at this day he is all set to start his journey. To make people know that once there was a guy like him who wanted to leave his signature on this world. His belief, his hopes are his driving factors which are taking him forward.

Title : Thumbi Thullal – A Disappearing Folk Art Form Of Kerala
Thumbi Thullal is a folk art form which is performed by women of Kerala as a part of Onam celebrations.
This art form was one of the most important events which bring out true spirit of Onam festival long ago. Nowadays events like this are fast disappearing.
In thumbi thullal, usually six to seven women in their traditional attire take part. They sit in form of a circle and lead performer (who’ll be called as Thumbi which means dragon fly in malayalam) sits
in the middle of the circle. She’ll be holding a bunch of thumba flowers which were so common all over rural Kerala long ago.
The lead performer will sing a melodious fast paced song and other performers sitting around her will also join after some time. They clap their hands and sway to the melody as the song progresses.
Gradually the tempo of the song increases and the lead performer will brush the floor as if she’s some possessed person.
When it comes to the end of the song, speed gradually decreases and singing fades away.
Nowadays these events which were common in every neighbourhood of Kerala are seen only in exhibition melas and all conducted here and there. Saddest thing is that younger generation is not getting much familiarized with art forms like this at all. I asked a few of my friends about this folk art, they asked me what is that? I had heard its name many times but never got chance to witness it.
The present day youth which includes me also is really unfortunate regarding many things like this. So many really good things of the old times are lost like this. Will they ever come back to us?

Title : Realize The Power Of Mobility
To which extend you use your mobile phones?
Like all of you know, a good java enabled multimedia phone is a perfect companion for day to day life.
Messaging, gprs, music, video etc but do you know that your java enabled set will be able to do almost all the functions which apersonal computer can do.
Yeah limitations are there for those functions but it gets the job done on most of the cases.
I just thought to put it all together n share it with you people…
Key towards those functions are a set of java applications by various manufacturers.
For taking you online, a number of mobile browsers are available. Opera Mini, UCWEB, Bitstream Bolt etc etc. I recommend Opera Mini for browsing and UCWEB for downloading files. You’ll know why I said so after using them. Both are so convenient. UCWEB is really fast n the dedicated in
built downloader enables us to pause the download and finish it at a later stage.
For going through your files in memory card,
and going through memory card in your friend’s device via bluetooth, file zipping, unzipping and other functions Blue FTP by Medieval is the best.
A lot of demo and adware versions are avialable of the software in mobile application sites like Getjar, Mobile9 etc.
For reading pdf documents also there is a way, if you just search those sites i’ve mentioned above, you can get a large amount of pdf readers like Adobe Reader, Mobile Pdf etc etc.
You can even chat with your friends in Yahoo Messenger, GTalk and facebook messenger with the help of applications like sHmessenger, GoTalkMobile, eBuddy etc.
For downloading all videos found in youtube, metacafe etc, you can check out the site vuclip.com but nowadays most service providers are charging for the download from vuclip.
No need to get disappointed, youtube videos can be viewed directly…
Mostly Youtube’s Application will be provided in high end phones and all. If not just log in to m.youtube.com from the default browser of your phone and enjoy!
If you explore, you can find millions of other ways of doing some work you usually do only in pc in your mobile phone…
I’m not familiar with those completely so just mentioned about the few I use…
Its always convenient to carry your mobile phone always, it can be your personal manager in daily life and also a great help.
If it had life, it’ll undoubtedly be your best friend who knows you pretty well and keeps your life moving.
