You all must have noticed what the picture is all about right? Yes it’s a notice issued by some hostel warden of a very reputed college to girl students. Found this one on an internal group mail first and then on blogs of two friends. First reaction to this picture from me was WTF? Subject says “Dress Regulations – Girl Students” but it’s more like regarding preventing girls and boys talking to each other. What is this? I have got only a few questions to whoever put a notice like this, first question is that “If a boy and girl just talk to each other, will they loose their virginity?” If so I’m not one, I got a lot of friends among girls. Second question is that “What exactly they want to prove with such a notice? To create a good opportunity for others to let others know how much narrow minded they are?” I mean, in this world doesn’t this sound really strange and so backward?
Yeah they must have their own explanations and all for sure. But isn’t this really weird? Just for one issue which might have (guessed it) happened a measure like this? What the hell is this? Will this fix everything? This management has got really large number if schools and colleges, a friend of me who is an alumnus of a school run by these people said that this is the same condition at that school also. Boys and girls are not allowed to talk to each other, sit with each other etc. Thing is that even female teachers are not allowed to male staff and vice versa. He added that such so called rules and all didn’t work out at all… Boys and girls were allowed to talk to each other and get to know each other by their teachers themselves. Thank god at least teachers had SENSE.
I believe that each boy and each girl has their own rights. It depends completely on them whether to make friends among people of other sex and all. At the same time they should be wise enough to make choices. They should have a clear idea of what they want and what they’re doing is right. We have some social manners also right? It’ll be great if they consider things on that manner also.
I believe that a majority of present day youth (which includes me also) know what is wrong and what is right. They are independent and intelligent. In other places boys and girls even live together. Here its considered a sin at most places as its against our culture, I agree to that but they shouldn’t even talk to each other? It’s really wrong. I believe that if you suppress the youth preventing them not to do something, they’ll not do anything except what you prevented them to do. Isn’t that so guys? That’s what my friend also said, they did talk to each other just like others.
Conditions have to change. If a girl talked to boy or vice versa, it won’t be a crime at all. There should be no discrimination between boys and girls like this. Bringing such restrictions in this present world is the actual crime. Hope the authorities will understand…
